Burrah Park

Burrah Park is a 171-hectare industrial estate in the heart of the Northern Gateway Precinct of the Western Sydney Aerotropolis and the site for a proposed a state-of-the-art logistics and warehousing hub.

Development Manager HB+B engaged Yerrabingin to develop a Designing with Country Framework for its State Significant Development Application, working closely with HB&B Property, Nettleton Tribe and Geoscapes.

Yerrabingin facilitated a Design Jam co-design workshop, Targeted Language Workshop, Walk on Country, Aerotropolis Workshop, RAPs Workshop and Dharug Women’s Workshop. These sessions brought together the First Nations Community, client, project and design teams to collectively identify opportunities for Designing with Country within the precinct. The work revealed the unique ecosystem of Dharug Country's water network.

The outcomes were First Nations Community-driven design principles and a suite of spatial typologies that provide the opportunity to connect with Country.

Yerrabingin summarised the process in a Designing with Country Framework. Yerrabingin also delivered the Recognise Country Response Template for this project, which is a requirement for master plans, State Significant Development, State Significant Infrastructure and development applications within the Western Sydney Aerotropolis where the Recognise Country Guidelines apply.
