About

An Indigenous Australian design team led by Yerrabingin, with support from Hassell, has been named among the four finalists selected to compete in the second round design phase.

The open, international competition run by Sydney Olympic Park Authority invited design teams to provide a vision for the transformation and activation of the public space surrounding ANZ Stadium – guiding the precinct into a new era. The brief calls for designs that celebrate the Olympic spirit, create a place for people, and establish a green heart.

Our role

Yerrabingin, in collaboration with the project team and community partners, will create a human centred approach focussed on the development of Indigenous design narratives, principles and themes. This process, led by Yerrabingin, is different to consultation as the design is fluid, with reiteration and the organic formation of the design, with the outcomes then taken to broader consultation, as a form of user testing.

Yerrabingin will also undertake other empathetic research to test these ideas and redesign them so that the key focus is sharing human experience, connection and cultural celebration.
