Gubbah Gubbah / Middle Head Masterplan

Gubbuh Gubbuh / Middle Head is a nationally significant site overlooking the entrance to Sydney Harbour that has considerable cultural, natural and First Nations significance. Yerrabingin was engaged to work alongside COX on a master plan for future renewal of the lands and built assets.

Yerrabingin hosted a Walk on Country and Collaborative Design Workshop at the Gubbah Gubbah site. Shared conversations and learnings explored and developed key principles for the project; Warami, Kinship for all beings, and Sharing Country’s Wisdom. These principles guided the design team's development of the masterplan.

A feedback session was conducted to ensure Community were part of the ongoing project. An exhibition was hosted showing how the Collaborative Design Workshop outcomes had been embedded into the design development. Community commented and drew on print outs that were displayed around the room, with the project team present to answer questions or take note of any concerns.

From here, the Middle Head / Gubbuh Gubbuh Master Plan was finalised as a Country and community-focused scheme that will inspire generations to come. It was formally adopted by the Board of the Harbour Trust in December 2023.
