Redfern Masterplan
Combining social and affordable housing, upgraded PCYC facilities and contemporary office spaces for Bridge Housing, the redevelopment will create a community hub that acknowledges the layered cultural history of inner-city Redfern.
The vision for this urban regeneration project is to revitalize a vacant PCYC lot adjacent to Redfern Park on Elizabeth Street to create a bustling, mixed-use development.
Yerrabingin worked collaboratively with Architecture AND, Sylvester Fuller, Hayball, Arcadia, Bridge Housing and Capella Capital to create a custom co-design process for the project. Key Connecting with Country Principles were identified and developed with Community to guide the design.
Major communal spaces were mapped out at 1:1 scale to experience apartment layouts and communal breezeways, while opportunities for local First Nations activation, employment and capacity building were identified and integrated.
