Yerrabingin joined Health Infrastructure for a Walk on Country and Collaborative Design Workshop at the proposed site for the $700 million-plus development. The event brought together about 50 people from Aboriginal Communities, Aboriginal Health Workers and project architects Cox-STH.

Walking on Country is an important step in learning the stories and heritage of the land from local Aboriginal Communities. A walk to the highest point of the site led to a discussion of the importance of landscape and nature in the design of a hospital.

A key story that emerged was ‘Mount Keira and the 5 islands’, which will inform the design of the hospital's landscape, architecture and interior design.

The result will be a well-connected space that Community is proud of and will feel comfortable to visit.
