Yerrabingin was involved in initial design discussions around extending the existing Shoalhaven Hospital. We met with the project team and local Aboriginal community to facilitate a Design Jam co-design workshop and explore key concepts and ideas to inform the hospital master plan.

Cultural stories were shared and emerged as important narratives to be expressed within the design of the landscape and built form. Themes identified in the existing and broader landscape included celebrating the existing blackbutt tree by building a public landscape space around it, connection to Cullunghutti Mountain, and views out to the Shoalhaven River.

Salt and freshwater will be interpreted within the landscape, educating and directing people around the space as a wayfinding technique.
